Jonathon Santos

Poet, Soul Singer, Songwritter, Cultural Organizer, and Innergy Artist, Santos extends his journey aimed at Collective Change Through Self Transformation with song, poetry, breathe, and movement. Personal motto: Let's come together and CREATE to change the world!


Currently facilitating the Lyrics to Life program while based in Asheville, NC, Santos invites participants to reflect on the techniques and themes of current and past poetry, rhyme, and song and then create and perform in their own unique medium of expression.Critical thinking, creative writing, visualization, movement, and meditation, are some of the tools Santos  art-making, prose and performance aimed at interpersonal, environmental, and social justice/social change. 

 
Originally born in the big apple, with family ancestry out of the Mississippi Delta and Puerto Rico, growing up and traveling throughout Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia, Australia, Mexico, and settling in the South Eastern U.S to hone his craft and further education at an HBCU, Jonathan "Santos" has a passion for and genuine insight into the complexities of the social construct of race, culture, and privilege as they play out in communities here in the U.S. He is an artist committed to creating works of inspiration and awareness around social, intra-personal, and environmental justice.
